Fund Accounting Manager Job Opportunity

We are looking for an individual to help us continue to grow our fund accounting services for clients that manage various non-traded investment programs, including both private funds as well as publicly registered/non-traded funds.  The Fund Accounting Manager job will involve preparing a variety of investment program financial reports for clients. Tasks may include cash forecasts/reconciliations, allocations, investor Net Assets Values (NAVs), capital calls, distributions, monthly workbooks and other fund financial reporting output.  The fund accounting manager will also be responsible for reviewing staff work products and acting as primary point of contact for assigned clients.

Job Description - Fund Accounting Manager

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of fund accounting and fund accounting manager fole.
  • Support SVP with business development efforts by analyzing accounting service needs for prospects. Fund accounting manager will also assist with developing pricing proposals
  • Fund accounting manager will review all transaction documentation and supporting files, and understand the features of the investment transactions, accruals, etc.
  • Prepare and review work paper files for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, valuation adjustments, etc.
  • Prepare management fee calculations
  • Prepare investor allocations and capital account statements
  • Prepare capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, allocations, and investor notices
  • Fund accounting manager will update distribution waterfall (carried interest) models, in keeping with the applicable fund terms
  • Prepare financial statements, notes disclosures, and supporting schedules
  • Help manage the year-end audit process, in collaboration with the other team members, client, and auditors
  • Handle daily/routine client information requests
  • Fund accounting manager will contribute toward a team covering one or more client relationships
  • Deliver accurate and timely work product within specified deliverables timelines, and in coordination with other team members
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior staff on all technical and client-service-related topics
  • Where applicable, support the tax preparers with information to prepare tax compliance/reports

The fund accounting manager will support business/departmental initiatives

Fund Accounting Manager Requirements

  • Qualified fund accounting manager candidate must demonstrate a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, be a self-starter committed to quality and process improvement and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years experience in fund accounting, with focus on private equity and real estate investments funds
  • CPA designation a plus
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
  • Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers and financial statements
  • Fund accounting manager must be deadline oriented with ability to complete assigned tasks independently
  • Oracle, Quickbooks, Netsuite, Archway ATWeb experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with superior Excel skills

Job Qualifications

  • Fund accounting manager must have experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers and financial statements
